The Provident Health Foundation will be financially helping to supply the filled backpacks for students! This foundation seeks to respond to the needs of youth in our community. They are generously providing the Pre-Packed backpacks. The Provident Health Foundation supports healthy youth activities in Marinette and Menominee Counties.
The Menominee County Department of Health and Human Services (MCDHHS), St Joseph SSVdP Conference (SJC-SSVdP) (Marinette and Peshtigo) and The Salvation Army (TSA) (Marinette and Menominee Counites) are coming together again to host our summer Back 2 School Program! We are excited to announce our local Back 2 School (B2S) Bash Community Event on August 20th at The DAR Boys and Girls Club at 901 8th Avenue, Menominee, MI.
Over 600 children are expected to be assisted again this year. Roonga, our nationwide provider, will prepare the filled backpacks and ship them directly to Badger Paper Mill. We are grateful for BPM’s partnership in this community event by providing storage and financial donation. The B2S Bash Community Event will include filled backpacks, healthy snacks, a resource fair, climbing wall, Wello Farm Truck, and other fun activities at each resource booth! To host a resource table or be an event sponsor please contact Christina Hellberg of MCDHHS at [email protected] or call 906-290-2215.
The sponsor organizations have set up an online donation drive at https://www.roonga.com/collection-drive/details/b2s2026 to purchase pre-assembled supplies placed inside backpacks. Primary (Headstart, Pre-K3, Pre-K4, K5) cost $18.34, Elementary (Grades 1-5) cost $20.24 and Middle/High School cost $24.89. At this website, donors can sponsor one or more students with everything they need for the new year. The total donated backpacks will be split between St Joseph SSVdP Conference and The Salvation Army according to their percentage needs of each type Pre-K/K, Elementary (1-5) and Middle/High (6-12).
